Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens
The sheltered, landscaped grounds of the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens hold historic plant collections and a large number of significant trees, many dating from the nineteenth century. The Botanical Gardens Restaurant is set in one of the loveliest locations for any restaurant is Tasmania.
Cadbury Chocolate Factory
Calling all chocoholics: Cruise to Cadbury's Chocolate Factory and experience the creation of classic chocolate - with plenty of free samples to illustrate the end of the process! Along the way, cruise under the Tasman Bridge and enjoy panoramic views of Hobart, Mt. Wellington, Bellerive, and Rosny Hill.
Bonorong Park Wildlife Centre
At Bonorong Wildlife Park, there are enthusiatic, professional staff who are dedicated to ensuring your visit is both enjoyable and informative. Adults and children alike will be fascinated by Tasmania's special species, Devils, Quolls, Wombats, Echidna and you can hand feed the Forester Kangaroos with complimentary food, share unforgettable moments with the Koalas and their dedicated keepers.
Tasman National Park
It is an area of great beauty and natural diversity, including some of the most stunning coastal scenery anywhere in Australia. Not suprisingly, the park offers some of the best coastal walks in the country. Many interesting rock formations can be found along the coastline, while the southern end of the park has some of the highest and most spectacular sea cliffs in Australia.
Fudge Factory and Historic Gardens Tour
There is a small shop at the front of the Female Factory that sells fudge, jams, chutneys, sauces and more. The proceeds from these sales are directed back into the Female Factory preservation fund.
Battery Point
Battery Point of today retains much of the character of 100 years ago in it's real estate, restaurant and history.
Hartz Mountains National Park
Hartz Mountains National Park is a window into the south-west wilderness, offering views of remote mountain ranges as far as the southern coast. As well as spectacular views of a landscape which has been shaped by glaciers during past ice ages, the park offers a variety of unique features. Waterfalls tumble off the dolerite range that runs through the centre of the park and small glacial lakes dot the plateau.
Cascade Brewery
One-and-a-half hour tours are conducted by guides several times per day, 7 days a week. Tours include the chance to see some of Australia's best loved premium beers brewed in the historic brewery and a walk through the famous Woodstock gardens. Allow half an hour at the end of the tour for tastings.
Theatre Royal
In 1834 a consortium of Hobart Town's business leaders was formed with the aim of establishing a permanent theatre for the rapidly expanding colony. Today the Theatre Royal is not just a piece of Tasmania's history but a living centre for the performing arts. It presents an annual program of live theatre, contemporary music, dance and entertainment.
ABOUT HOBART
Hobart, Tasmania’s harbour-side capital city was founded in 1804, and is the second oldest city in Australia. It now has a population of approximately 250,000 people.
Hobart city stretches along both shores of the Derwent River, and has the lofty Mt Wellington as a picturesque backdrop. Hobart is a city of sails and sandstone, festivals and flavours - colourful spinnakers on the harbour, fine old 19th century warehouses along Salamanca Place, the fun and music of the waterfront Summer Festival and excellent restaurants highlighting Tasmania’s fresh food.

Take a walk through Battery Point, where the city’s oldest cottages snuggle together, stroll through one of the city’s heritage parks, in the shade of mature English trees, or wander along Salamanca Place, with its line of Georgian warehouses, the sandstone chipped by convict chisels.

HUON TRAIL

TASMANIAN TRANSPORT MUSEUM
The museum is the home of the state's largest collection of transport exhibits and related items. It provides a fascinating insight on life in Tasmania from the earliest days of merchanised transport and fire services.

RISDON BROOK PARK
Risdon Brook Park, set amongst dense bushland on Hobart’s eastern shore, is a popular recreational area. The Park is home to one of Hobart’s largest drinking water reservoirs which supplies water to homes on the eastern shore.
Southern Water owns and maintains Risdon Brook Park, which includes a walking track, barbecue facilities, a children’s playground and toilet facilities.
This is an easy walk for the whole family,the track around Risdon Brook reservoir is approximately 4.36km in length. Cycling is allowed. Follow the vehicle-width track all the way around the reservoir in either direction. The track is mostly flat but undulates around the eastern bay and at the approach to the northern end of the reservoir.
There are views to Mount Wellington and Mount Direction from the eastern side of the reservoir and bush views around the whole reservoir perimeter.

TASMANIAN DEVIL CONSERVATION PARK
Come face to face with real live Tasmanian devils at our fantastic new world first habitats at Tasmanian Devil Conservation Park.
It is the world's original and best Tasmanian devil visitor centre.
You'll see devils feeding - six times a day - snarling and doing what they do best, crushing up bones and generally being devilish.
See the famous dive of the falcon in Tasmania's only free-flight presentation. You'll also see friendly little parrots play some unusual tricks and discover how birds can recognize colours.

TASMANIAN MUSEUM & ART GALLERY
The Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery in Hobart is Tasmania's premier museum. It is situated in a collection of 19th century historic buildings immediately north of Hobart's famous docks area.
It has fine Tasmanian colonial history and art collections,
Tasmanian natural wonders, including a special collection of treasures related to the extinct Tasmanian tiger or thylacine, as well as a collection of antique Tasmanian furniture.
The are special exhibitions for children,
a restaurant and cafe and there are regular guided tours.
SALMON PONDS
Built in 1861, is the oldest trout hatchery in the Southern Hemisphere. It was the first place to be stocked with trout in Australia and was the mainstay of trout breeding for Tasmania’s legendary trout fisheries. Visit the Salmon Ponds near New Norfolk in the Derwent River valley and wander amidst the historic buildings, hatchery and fish ponds. There's also a restaurant within the original 19th century English style public
open space of superb trees, hedges and lawns.
